Nora was born prematurely at 23 weeks and 5 days gestation via emergency C-section due to HELLP syndrome. As many micro-preemies do, Nora has health concerns in the NICU, but it was clear from early on that she was sassy, spunky, and full of fight.
When Nora was 33 days old, everything changed. She has developed NEC totalis. Nora tragically passed away due to NEC, surrounded by her parents’ love.
“We did everything 'right' - Nora received my milk and the best clinical care, but still, NEC stole our daughter in a matter of hours.”
Cassey, Nora's mom
