NEC Society PhD Award

The NEC Society is honored to award a PhD candidate, postdoc, or early-career scientist working on NEC with funding to attend the NEC Symposium in San Diego, September 19-22, 2027. The NEC Symposium is the world’s largest scientific meeting dedicated to necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC).
Applications for the NEC Society PhD Award will open in Fall 2026.

The NEC Society’s mission is to build a world without necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) by advancing research, education, and advocacy. The NEC Society is honored to award a PhD candidate, postdoc, or early-career scientist working on NEC with funding to attend the NEC Symposium in San Diego, September 19-22, 2027.

About the NEC Symposium

The NEC Society has organized the NEC Symposium biennially since 2017.

The NEC Symposium is the largest and most impactful meeting dedicated to NEC, uniting hundreds of clinicians, researchers, and patient-families to advance the field’s understanding and treatment of NEC.

This meeting provides a transformative learning experience for leaders, clinicians, scientists, and trainees, while centering patient-families in every conversation.
