Our son, Teddy, was diagnosed with NEC just weeks after he was born and tragically passed away from the disease just 36 hours after being diagnosed in the NICU. We had never heard of NEC and had no idea our son was at risk of the disease before he was diagnosed. I am part of the NEC Society to help raise awareness and build a world without this cruel disease so that, one day, parents never need to learn about necrotizing enterocolitis.
