Brian is Professor of Pediatrics, Surgery, and Molecular Medical Genetics at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR. He is dedicated to doing everything possible to help build a world without necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). Brian’s main research interests are understanding human milk as a biological system, what milk becomes in the infant intestine, milk-intestinal epithelium interactions, and how milk and the intestinal microbiome work together to help prevent NEC. He became part of the NEC Society in 2017, contributes to the NEC Biorepository, and is honored to serve on the Board of Directors.
