NEC Society Wave of Light

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, and October 15 is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day. The Wave of Light is observed on October 15th at 7pm. Around the world, people will light a candle at 7pm local time, creating a wave of light that sweeps the globe.

The Wave of Light is a powerful occasion for individuals, families, and communities to come together to remember the little ones we hold in our hearts. NEC is a leading cause of infant death, impacting thousands of babies every year. Let’s light up the world in remembrance of our babies.

How you can participate in the NEC Society Wave of Light:

Pick a Location – Pick a location you feel comfortable. That may be your own home, taking a walk in your neighborhood, getting together with family and friends at a local park, or the hospital you feel connected to.

Light up the World – At 7 pm local time, light candles, turn your front porch light on, or even build a cozy fire. If you can’t participate at the given time, pick a day and time that works best for you.

Spread the Word – Capture and take photos of your event on social media, tag the NEC Society, send out a message inviting your community to join you.

Join the community – Get blue and green lights, purchase a copy of Forever Our Little One, and donate to NEC Society in memory of your loved one. Tag and share your Wave of Light photos on the NEC Society’s social media pages and let your community know why you’re here helping us build a world without necrotizing enterocolitis. 💙💚
