The 2017 NEC Symposium, entitled “A Transdisciplinary Approach to Improved Outcomes”, was held on April 5-7 on the UC Davis campus. The Symposium was the first meeting in North America to focus specifically on improved outcomes of necrotizing enterocolitis. The NEC Society has prepared a Conference Summary, detailing the meeting and providing highlights from each session, available for download by clicking on the link above. Additionally, we look forward to the following:
- The February 2018 issue of Seminars in Pediatric Surgery will be dedicated to the review of the 2017 NEC Symposium.
- Select sessions that are not included in the February 2018 issue of Seminars in Pediatric Surgery will publish White Papers to ensure the content is disseminated.
- NICUniversity will publish video recordings from select sessions.
- The NEC Society will hold a 2019 NEC Symposium and efforts are now underway to secure funding. The 2019 meeting will be held in partnership with the University of Michigan’s Division of Pediatric Surgery, June 2 – 5, 2019. Stay tuned for more details!
